Many people who book their first osteopathy appointment are unsure about what to expect. That is completely understandable. Here we take you through the entire process, step by step, so you can feel safe and prepared.

Before the Appointment

You do not need any special preparation. It may be helpful to wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. Think through your medical history and current complaints beforehand.

Step 1: The Thorough Conversation

We always start with a detailed conversation about your complaints, your general health, lifestyle, and treatment goals. We ask about sleep, stress levels, exercise habits, and any previous injuries. This information is crucial for creating a complete understanding of your situation.

Step 2: The Holistic Examination

After the conversation, we conduct a thorough clinical examination. This includes assessment of posture, mobility, and specific orthopedic and neurological tests. We look at the whole body – not just where it hurts – because the cause of pain often lies somewhere other than the symptom.
